About cellcure

CellCure A/S was founded in year 2000 by the researcher Keld Kaltoft (founder and majority shareholder) together with Østjysk Innovation. The idea behind the company was to explore the potential for new cancer therapies based on human continuous allogenic T-cell lines transduced with recombinant T-cell receptors.

The pharmaceutical company LEO Pharma initiated broad-based support of CellCure during the years 2001-2004, but is no longer involved in the management of the company.

Following the impressive results achieved in the first four years of operation, CellCure completed a USD 5.4 million series B financing in June 2005. The equity investment was provided by Incuba venture, Dansk Erhvervsinvestering, Vecata, Østjysk Innovation and CellCure’s new CEO, Anders Trojel.

The proceeds from the new equity investment will be used for further development of the company's T-cell based approach to cancer therapy, in particular its lead products C-Cure 709 for the treatment of (metastatic) malignant melanoma. An initial phase I study was completed in 2004 and CellCure now expects to commence a Phase II study for C-Cure 709 in the second half of 2006.
